Vijay K. Thadani is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of NIIT Ltd, a leading global skills and Talent Development Corporation. As the co-founder of the NIIT Group, he has built an organization that is recognised for its visionary role in bringing the benefits of Information Technology, both as a professional skill and as a learning tool, to the masses.
Vijay has led the Group's globalization efforts since 1991, taking the NIIT flag to over 40 countries and has been actively engaged with many Industry Associations. He served as President of the Indian IT industry association, MAIT and as the Chairman of CII Northern Region for 2011- 2012. He also served as the Chairman of the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), under the aegis of the Quality Council of India and as the Chairman of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad.
Vijay is the co-founder of the not-for-profit, NIIT University established in 2009 with a vision of being the leading center of innovation and learning in emerging areas of the Knowledge Society. He is a Founder Director on the Board of NIIT Technologies Limited, a leading SEI-CMMi Level 5 assessed IT Solutions organization, servicing customers in the USA, Europe, Japan, Asia Pacific and India. He chairs the Board of Governors of MN National Institute of Technology, Allahabad and serves on the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He also chairs CII's National Committee on Higher Education and serves on the Governing Council of All India Management Association (AIMA).
A 'Distinguished Alumnus' of the premier Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Vijay was honored with the position of 'Economic Consultant' to Chongqing, world's largest city in the People's Republic of China.
Parappil Rajendran, Joint Managing Director of NIIT Ltd., is a member of the core team that developed and brought the organization to its present position of global standing, since its inception in 1981.
He received his degree in Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India in 1974 and joined KELTRON, a nascent electronic products company set up by Govt. of Kerala, where he worked for eight years. During this period he was involved in marketing, product management and sales of electronic industrial products. Later he moved into the domain of electronic automation and control of power stations.
Rajendran also serves on the Board of Management of the not-for-profit NIIT University set up in Neemrana, Rajasthan with the vision of creating the University of the Future built on the foundation of Industry-linked, Technology-based, Research-driven and Seamless learning.
He is also actively engaged with NIIT Foundation, which addresses the skilling and employability needs of youth from the underprivileged segments of the society.
Rajendran has been associated with the apex industry association, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has chaired the CII North Region Committees on HR and Information Technology; and later on led the CII National Committee on Higher Education over three years.
Rahul Keshav Patwardhan is the Chief Executive Officer of NIIT Limited, a global leader in skills and talent development, offering multi-disciplinary learning management and training delivery solutions to corporations, institutions, and individuals in over 40 countries.
Rahul is a Production Engineer and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. After having spent the first 20 years of his career with NIIT in diverse roles, Rahul returns to the company with 10 years of extensive Global experience in scaling managed services operations with Logica. With a proven track record and excellence in strategy, technology services management, training services & channel management, Rahul will spearhead the transformation of NIIT's global offerings and brand positioning in the realm of skills and talent development.
Prior to re-joining NIIT, Rahul was based at the Europe headquarters of Logica as MD, Global Managed App Services. By 2011, he oversaw a revenue line of USD 1.5B and a 12000 person globally diverse App Management workforce across all onshore European locations and offshore locations in India, Morocco, Philippines and Central/Eastern Europe. He then became the Global Productivity Leader, responsible for design & execution of a strategic program to improve delivery productivity and gross margins across the firm, globally. Earlier on at Logica in 2005, Rahul served as the Company's CEO of the India Offshore unit in Bangalore, as well as the Global Director of Applications Management delivery across Logica worldwide. He functioned as a key member of the global leadership team.
During his initial career, Rahul started at NIIT as a key member of the team in 1987 that conceived and implemented NIIT's Training Services Franchise model. He then led product management of the Individual IT Training business and drove strong annual growth. He also initiated training services Quality Management on industrial engineering principles, to ensure NIIT delivered Quality training consistently, while scaling up. Later, as NIIT's Corporate Planning manager, he developed and implemented a model for long-term strategic planning and budgeting for the company. In the early 90's he set up NIIT's operations across Asia Pacific, kicking off the globalization of Corporate & Individual learning businesses, and was instrumental in NIIT's start in China; apart from launching the Software & SI business in the region. He led the acquisition of significant multimedia learning deals in Singapore and Malaysia. During the last part of his 20-year career with the NIIT group, he was the President of Europe & APAC Software business in NIIT Technologies Ltd.
Rohit Gupta joined NIIT's leadership team in April 2011 as its Chief Finance Officer. Rohit has over 25 years of experience in Driving Enterprise Cost and Financial Management Strategy formulation. He previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Virgin Mobile India and has a strong track record of driving operational improvements in processes in telecom and IT industries.
At NIIT, Rohit has spearheaded various initiatives including the recent Scheme of Arrangement exercise as part of Business Transformation, BalanceSheet restructuring, Cost Management and Fund raising. Earlier he led EVA Implementation project which has helped ensure financial discipline across the company. Rohit has a background in Operations, Accounting, Finance, planning & Budgeting, International Taxation, Revenue Management, Treasury Management, Cost Management and Legal & Secretarial Management which enables him to manage tough business decisions.
A B.com (Hons) from Delhi University and a Member of Chartered Accountants of India, Rohit has also worked with DCM Shriram Group, Hutchison Max Group, British Telecom Group, and Bharti Airtel Limited.
Prakash assumed his new role as the President, Global Skills & Careers Group (SCG), NIIT Limited from 1st April 2016. In this role, he is responsible for all retail Skills and Career business of NIIT globally.
Prakash began his career with NIIT in Chennai in 1985, and played many roles including being the head of Bangalore region and head of marketing and sales in India for the education business. Later he moved to China in 1997 to establish NIIT's operations in the country. In fact, NIIT was the first Indian IT company to do so. In his last role before taking on the current assignment, he was responsible for NIIT's retail Skills & Career business outside India, which included China, Africa and South East Asia. He drove it to become the fastest growing and most profitable business unit of NIIT.
Having seen various facets of the organization as a veteran NIITian, and with a global experience in the fast moving Chinese market, Prakash has been instrumental in driving new models of Educational Technology to enable successful digital transformation of the China business.
Prakash brings with him, a rich international experience, which will help complete the digital transformation of the SCG Business in India. With NIIT's Skills & Careers Digital Business unit headquartered out of Bangalore, the hotbed of cutting-edge innovations in Educational Technology, Prakash will spearhead NIIT's adoption of new-age IT learning solutions. His charter, on one hand, is to revamp NIIT's curriculum offerings in India to serve the urgent skilling needs for a Digital Workforce; and on the other, to digitally transform NIIT's own SCG business in the country.
Under Prakash's leadership, NIIT has been acknowledged by the Chinese government as the 'Most influential IT Training Brand' in China. Further, he has been personally felicitated by the Chinese government, for influencing the development of the Training industry in China.
Sapnesh Lalla is at the helm of the rapid growth and development of NIIT's Corporate Learning Group business across North America and Europe. Sapnesh joined NIIT in 1992 and has enjoyed a long and accomplished tenure at the company. Sapnesh has been a pioneer for NIIT in the USA market ever since he relocated to the United States in 1996 as a Group Consultant. Under his leadership, NIIT has grown to become an established learning outsourcing solutions provider with its Managed Training Services offering.
Gavin Dabreo is the Chief Executive Officer of MindChampion Learning Systems Limited (MLSL)- NIIT's K-12 school learning subsidiary. An MBA from the Manchester Business School, UK, Gavin has extensive work experience of 25 years across - education, transportation, telecom and consumer product industries. He began his career in 1991, in advertising with FCB Ulka in Mumbai. He moved out of advertising by joining a pioneering venture called Sterling Resorts in the mid 90s. Subsequently in 1998, Gavin was part of the original team that launched Tata's telecom venture, Tata Teleservices. In 2008 he joined Meru Cabs, as one of the founding members of the management committee, helping the team build Meru Cabs into India's largest and favourite taxi company. He then had an entrepreneurial stint in the education K12 space, which he subsequently sold. In 2014 as CEO at Varsity Education Management, he executed one of India's largest digital education program in Sri Chaitanya Schools and established India's first edu-cloud network in partnership with Microsoft Corporation.
Udai Singh is the Chief Strategy Officer of NIIT Limited. Additionally, he drives strategic change initiatives for the organization and also oversees the Global Government Business of NIIT and in this capacity is responsible for the path-breaking Chiphen Rigpel Project in Bhutan.
Udai has been part of both the Software Services & Learning businesses of the NIIT Group. As a technology evangelist in the early 90's, Udai toured India extensively - teaching Object Oriented Programming & C++ to a variety of audiences. In turn he helped spread NIIT Corporate Training to various countries in the APAC region. In the mid-90's, Udai turned to Networking, Data communications & IT Infrastructure management. He designed & implemented a new generation of capital efficient off-shore software development centres for NIIT and then implemented India's largest network connecting over 17,000 nodes at NIIT retail centres distributed across India. The Global IP scheme designed for NIIT's intranet has withstood the test of time and is still in use.
Udai has been involved in the conceptualization & implementation of numerous technology enabled learning innovations at NIIT over the years. He helped setup NetVarsity.Com one of the world's earliest online learning portals in 1996, and subsequently evolved this into a Brick-and-Portal model of Blended Education delivery as the Chief Operating Officer of NIIT Online Learning Limited. In 2003 he was asked to lead the newly created Global Design, Development & Information Systems Group. Over the next 3 years he led the development of an integrated portfolio of products and systems for NIIT's Retail Education Businesses in India, China and Emerging markets. Additionally he managed strategic alliances with global technology partners such as Microsoft, Oracle, Intel, Cisco amongst others. In 2006, as NIIT transformed into a Global Talent Development organization and ventured into domains beyond IT, he helped setup NIIT Imperia and brought Executive Management Education from Premier institutes such as IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta to working professionals across India through a unique Synchronous Learning Technology platform. He also conceptualized & deployed India's first Cloud CampusTM featuring NIIT's unique Cloud & Collaborative Learning Model. Amongst the latest initiatives that he is currently incubating are StackRoute and NIIT.tv
Udai did his B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and M.E. in Electronics & Control from BITS Pilani. He became one of the youngest Lecturers at the age of 21 and taught Computer Science courses for a year before joining NIIT in 1990.
Rajan Venkataraman, Chief Technology Officer, NIIT Ltd., provides technology thought leadership to NIIT globally. Rajan is an IT security expert with a zeal for perfection - First time right is his motto. He has been recognized with multiple awards for his significant contributions globally. He started his journey as a Post-Grad student from NIIT Chennai in 1988 and moved to USA to establish the NIIT Global Technology Arm in 1996. He leads the NIIT Technology footprint across 40+ countries and 500+ locations.
Kamal Dhuper is Country Head of NIIT China Limited and Senior Vice President of NIIT Limited , a global leader in skills and talent development, offering multi-disciplinary learning management and training delivery solutions to corporations, institutions, and individuals in over 40 countries.
He started his carrer with NIIT in 1993 and perfomed various roles in marketing, sales, business management, channel management and corporate strategy while being based in New Delhi, India till 2005. Before moving to China, he was working in NIIT corporate office with the Global CEO as Senior Manager, Corporate Planning, and responsible for co-ordination of organization wide strategy planning, budgeting, business reviews & supporting NIIT China business from corporate office.
He relocated to Shanghai, China in 2005 with his family. He is currently responsible for growth of NIIT’s business in China while working closely with provincial governments, software parks, universities, colleges, business partners, industry leaders, technology companies, partners & thought leaders in China. He has led teams that have cultivated, conceptualized and established public-private-partnerships with city and provincial level governments of China. He has consulted governments on strategies & initiatives for talent development for growth of service economy. In 2012, he was appointed as member of International Advisory & Consultative Committee by Wuxi municipal government of Jiangsu Province.
